Though details are still pending, the developers were able to talk about their experiences working on Streets of Rage 4, what the series has meant to them, and more. So much so that I reached out to the development team to get some insight on both the game itself and its imminent DLC. X Nightmare DLC is something I’m legit stoked to do. Streets of Rage 4 was my favorite game of 2020, so revisiting it for the new Mr. Meanwhile, newcomer Estel became an instant favorite in Streets of Rage 4, and it always seemed like she was destined to be playable at some point. Shiva and Max have quite a bit of history as part of the Streets of Rage series, so their inclusion as playable brawlers in the upcoming DLC is great news for longtime fans. Shiva, Max Thunder, and Estel Aguirre join the fight after previously appearing as bosses in the game. There’s also some new music coming to the already-stellar score. X Nightmare will add three new playable characters to the game, as well as a Survival mode that’s still under wraps. Though I suspect that won’t be the case for long with the PC version and modders. Sadly, other newer characters such as Estel Aguirre and others are not playable, or at least not via normal means that we know of.
Streets of Rage 4 – Adam Hunter (Reach stage 4 in story mode).The following characters are all unlockable in Streets of Rage 4. You can also do this by playing stages on a higher difficulty, this is where the stage select comes into play. Outside of performing huge combos, you can also earn more points by getting a high ranking on each stage, saving up your stars, and finishing levels with how much is intact on your health meter during the story mode. You’ll start unlocking characters once you’ve accumulated 200,000 points and will continue on until you max out the lifetime points. Collect them all and this brings the playable roster of characters to 17 in total. These points will level up your overall score in the game and once you pass the several thresholds, you’ll be rewarded with a character from the previous games. To do this, you’ll have to accumulate a number of points that are earned by performing chain combos, finishing stages, and end-stage bonuses. Well, all with the exception of Adam, who gets unlocked automatically when you reach a certain point in the story mode. Unlocking playable characters in Streets of Rage 4 is quite easy, though you’ll have to grind them out. Characters from Streets of Rage 1, 2, and 3 are all playable, but how do you access them? Well, that’s why you’re here, right? Unlocking characters in Streets of Rage 4. While Streets of Rage 4 features several returning characters from the previous games, as well as newcomers, there’s also a number of unlockable characters.
